Edward Flynn is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works toward the treatment of clients struggling with childhood trauma, PTSD, anxiousness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, relationship issues, LGBTQIA+ concerns, and self injury. He specializes in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) as a mode of treatment, and works in outpatient settings with adults. Additionally, he is a certified hypnotherapist, which can aid in DBT. Edward centers his sessions on patient satisfaction, and individualizes each treatment plan to the needs of the patient.
Schedule An AppointmentDialectical behavior therapy is a type of cognitive behavioral treatment with an emphasis on the psychosocial aspects of an illness. It is designed to focus on how each patient reacts to certain emotional situations involving personal relationships. DBT can help identify a person's strengths, weaknesses, and negative thoughts that can lead to quick changes in emotion. Through therapy, these thoughts and changes can be transformed into stability in mood and increased social skills.
Learn More →Cognitive behavioral therapy is a psychotherapy that is based on the idea that the way individuals perceive a situation is more closely connected to their reaction than the situation itself. Through CBT, a patient can change their negative thinking and behavior to improve their mood and functioning.
Learn More →Mood and Anxiety disorders are a broad category of illnesses. These disorders can affect a person's daily emotional state, leading to a decline in activity or social life. Through medication and therapy, patients can learn to manage their condition and lead a happy and healthy life.
Psychotic disorders are severe mental disorders that cause abnormal thinking and perceptions. Patients with psychotic disorders have trouble staying in touch with reality and are often unable to handle daily life. However, through therapy and medication, patients can be treated and learn how to live with their disorder.
